In 1999, I took a social studies methods course. It was a course that was housed in the history department and that quite frankly, was one that a GA or unlucky non-tenured staff person taught. The instructor was an excellent teacher and researcher in his own right. One of the required works was a collection of Dewey's writings called "On Education" that was edited by Richard D. Archambault. I dived right on in and the rest is history so to speak. I like to pull out that book before the start of every school year to get excited and to get the fires going again. How about you?
